Algarve – Portugal Educational trip
I recently got to visit the Algarve in Portugal seeing some of the site and experiencing some of the things to do whilst in there. There is so much I can say about this place it is truly beautiful. We stayed in a little fishing village called Olhao in the Real Marina Hotel and spa. This was the view I was lucky enough to experience each day.
Whats there to do
There is so much to experience in the Algarve. I cant possibly list everything to do but I will share some of my highlights with you. My top recommendation would be a boat trip across the Ria Formosa. You cant miss the Ria Formosa when flying into faro its a lot of islands all within a Lagoon you fly over it on the way to the runway you can see it from the windows of the plane very easily. There a lots of companies offering trips into the Ria but make sure you get one which will drop you of at Ilha Deserta one of the islands. This is as close to paradise as you can experience. Even in the peak of summer there is no more than 100 people on this 8km stretch of island. The wildlife is incredible too from wild dolphins to wild flamingos and Ospreys. Best of all I got the opportunity to Drive the Speed boat back to the dock.
The bars, food and Nightlife is exceptional we had food it lots of areas. The lovers of the popular brand Nando’s will love it in Portugal as Piri Piri Chicken originates from Portugal. We ate at a Place called Ramires serving Piri Piri chicken and I have to admit this was Outstanding. Other native dishes include a big range of seafood which although I am not normally keen on I did eat and was very tasty this ranged from Octopus to clams.
The drinks were very sophisticated mostly wines and cocktails. Normally a a guy who reaches for a Larger rather than a cocktail. But I do have to say the wine and cocktails were beautiful. Some of the bars in Faro were very upmarket and what some would call Hipster but they all tried to outdo one another with the displays of the cocktails they put out.
There is many different resorts for all sorts of different kinds of groups be it families, couples or anything. From Quinta de Lagos to Vilamoura some very Scenic some very active and busy. Really I couldn’t recommend the Algarve enough for anyone take a look at some of the images and let me know what you think.
This year I have a Family holiday I will be blogging about in Albir, Spain. Along with hopefully a couple of Educational trips with work. I have only recently started working in travel and its a great industry to be in. I am looking forward to many more trips and posts in the near future.
